The next Sony PlayStation 5 event could be coming very soon, maybe even as early as next week. So far Sony have kept a lot of information about the next-gen console under wraps. We still haven’t seen the console let alone what it can actually do.
It’s unclear why it’s taking Sony so long to show us the PS5 but we’re hoping that this next event will put an end to this suspense and actually show us something tangible.
Bloomberg are among those reporting that insider sources related to the Sony PS5 have revealed that a PlayStation 5 game virtual showcase event is the next PS5 reveal event on the cards and could be held on June 3.
They’ve emphasized that while the date itself isn’t concrete and could be subject to change as “the plans have been in flux”, a PS5 game showcase event definitely is coming soon. So, hopefully, it won’t be long until we at least get a look at some of the game releases we can expect to see dropping around the same time as the next-gen console.
This event won’t reveal everything about the PS5, there are still more events to wait for after this so it’s going to be a while yet before we know everything. Things like price and an exact release date will no doubt be left until the last event. So far we have been drip-fed information and with the “Fall 2020” release date quickly approaching, suspense is rapidly morphing into frustration.
If a PS5 game showcase event really does take place next week let’s hope we see some actual gameplay. Because if it’s anything like the recent Xbox Series X “gameplay” event there might not be much point tuning in. Fans were promised gameplay and instead were greeted with a bunch of trailers. Let’s hope Sony takes heed of Microsoft’s mistake.
