Fans are left in anticipation today as Sony has launched the PS5 homepage without any announcement before or after. This stealthy move strongly suggests the rumoured February reveal event for the next-gen sony console to be a reality.
First spotted by a keen eyed user on reddit, now both the UK and German versions of the website are now published for everyone to see. Users can now sign up for all the latest news and recieve updates directly from PlayStation via email.
“We’ve begun to share some of the incredible features you can expect from PlayStation 5, but we’re not quite ready to fully unveil the next generation of PlayStation. Sign up below to be among the first to receive updates as we announce them, including news on the PS5 release date, PS5 price and the upcoming roster of PS5 launch games.“
The appearance of this page follows Sony’s announcement that they themselves currently don’t know the price of the PS5. Stating “because we are competing in the space, it’s very difficult to discuss anything about the price at this point of time, and depending upon the price level, we may have to determine the promotion that we are going to deploy and how much costs we are prepared to pay.” Basically saying they’re waiting for Microsoft to make the first move with the pricing of their Xbox Series X console. With both consoles set to release Holiday 2020.
Its unclear what Sony’s intentions are publishing this page without warning. Did they do this just to create a stir? Because if so it worked. It definitely poses a heavy implication that an announcement will be following very soon. This might be done via a real time event or a state of play live stream.
Whatever the case may be stay tuned for updates because something is definitely bound to happen very soon…
