Rick and Morty: The Other Five release date has now been confirmed.
After an extremely long wait, Rick and Morty will finally be returning to our screens. Adult Swim has confirmed that the second half of Season 4 will see its debut on May 3.
Season 4 began airing November 2019 with “Edge of Tomorty: Rick Die Rickpeat” and then was placed on hiatus after episode 5 “Rattlestar Ricklactica” aired on December 15. We knew there were going to be more episodes in the season but the one thing we didn’t know was when? Thankfully, we don’t have much longer to wait.
Rick and Morty was created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, and since its debut in 2013, it has become a cult classic amongst fans cementing itself as a staple amongst our most treasured pop culture icons.
The first part of season 4 featured a lot of new stories with not much call back to previous seasons but it looks like we may see more ties to the overarching story of the show. We saw a few cameos in 4A Mr. Meeseeks and Mr. Poopybutthole to name a few. It looks like there’s more on the way for 4B.
In the trailer see the return of ‘Snuffles’ Morty’s super smart dog who led a doggy revolution in season and we also see Summer in a lightsaber battle with her former best friend Tammy.
Tammy, was revealed to be an undercover agent for the Galactic Federation when she attempted to arrest everyone at her wedding reception and killed her fiancé Birdperson. She was last seen in “Rickshank Redemption” where the Galactic Federation revived Birdperson at her request. Will we see him return this season?
We have been assured that the show’s creators aren’t trolling. The other five’s April 1 announcement isn’t an April Fool’s prank (which wouldn’t exactly be out of character for them).
The gap between seasons has become somewhat of a running joke and has even been referenced in the show by the character Mr. Poopybutthole. There was a two year gap between seasons three and four.
They really know how to keep fans desperate for more. And more is definitely on the way since Harmon and Roiland have been given a multi-season order. More and more shows are being put on hiatus because of the COVID-19 epidemic but at least now we know Rick and Morty is on the way to give us our much needed fix.
