After the recent scare Tom Holland has confirmed that he is indeed going to be working on ‘Spider-Man 3’ and he says the story is ‘absolutely insane’.
In an interview with the inquirer, Holland revealed he will indeed be working on the currently untitled ‘Spider-Man 3’. Which is a major relief to fans considering last year there were reports of Spider-Man leaving the MCU due to Marvel and Sony failing to renegotiate their historic deal.
Spider-Man: Far From Home ended with a shocking reveal during a cameo from a very well-known Spider-Man character and it would have been a colossal shame to just leave it there. Thankfully, our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man will be back to save us from the massive cliff-hanger.
Holland said he’s ‘super happy about it’ and can’t wait to get back in the spandex once again as our favourite wall crawler in July, when they start shooting in Atlanta.
Holland also confirmed the return of Zendaya who plays ‘love interest’ Michelle Jones, a character referred to as MJ. Although he said he’s ‘not too sure’ what their relationship will be.
‘Spider-Man 3’ will be directed by Jon Watts and the script is written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, based on the comics by the late great Steve Ditko and Stan Lee.
The next Marvel movie up for release is Black Widow although its looking like it too may fall victim to delays after the spread of the coronavirus. It’s really not looking like a good year for the film industry.
We’ve currently seen the delay on a number of movies including the new James Bond movie No Time To Die. On top of this we’ve seen the cancellation of a number of big events including E3 2020 and the NBA which is currently suspended after a player tested positive for the virus.
